Union Jack Bunting Brooch

Firstly can I apologise for my lack of blogging over the recent months. I've been so busy with family and other projects i'm only starting to get back into the swing of things. If only I had just a smidge of me time to get my many making projects started!

Many moons ago I spotted a crumpled up length of vintage bunting at a car boot sale. It has different flags, representing some of the home countries. I gave it a wash and put it aside waiting for the inspiration to take over. To be honest I totally forgot about it until I was making some felt brooches for a fun day and decided to see whether it would work in fabric. I then remembered the bunting and thought with the forthcoming Olympics and Diamond Jubilee the bunting would be perfect.

I am really pleased with how it came out! I cut layers of folded fabric and stitched them together. I then plaited the leftovers and created a button to go in the centre. I love the muted the colours and ragged look to it.

I have it listed in my folksy and Etsy stores. I hope someone loves it as much as I do.

My shops and website are so bare at the moment that I really need to put in the hours to get it looking its best. I've given them a tidy and added better images to make it look a bit nicer.
